Shuswap Training Access Centre
Are lack of skills and certification preventing you from getting a job? The Shuswap Training Access Centre may be able to help you gain the skills and certification you require in order to get the job you need.
The Shuswap Training Access Centre provides funding for training for unemployed eligible persons who are having difficulty finding work due to a lack of skills and certification. To be eligible for funding through the Shuswap Training Access Centre you must be unemployed and can answer yes to one of the following questions:
- Are you currently receiving Employment Insurance benefits?
- Have you received Employment Insurance Benefits ending within the previous 36 months?
- Have you received Employment Insurance Benefits, which started in the previous 60 months and on which they were paid maternity or parental benefits?
If you are able to answer "yes" to any one of the questions, please Contact RESC to book an appointment with an Employment Facilitator who will help you to determine what steps you need to take to reach your goal of full-time, long-term employment.

StudentAid BC helps eligible students with the cost of their post-secondary education through loans, grants, bursaries, scholarships and special programs. It also has programs for borrowers who need help repaying their loans.

Columbia Basin Trust
Training Fee Support Program
The Training Fee Support Program is a bursary-style program that promotes access to education or training for Columbia Basin residents through a one-time only $800 grant. The grant may be used to pay all or part of tuition or course fees for short-term training essential to employment. Funds are paid directly to the education or training institution on behalf of the student.
Who Can Apply:
Basin residents who are unemployed or under-employed may apply. Applicants will have an initial consultation with their local employment agency counsellor. Contact RESC for further details and eligibility criteria.
