Youth Skills BC Workplace Pilot Program (YSBC - WPP)
An exciting new program funded under the Canada/British Columbia Labour Market Agreement was launched by the Ministry of Regional Economic and Skills Development. The Youth Skills BC Workplace Pilot Program (YSBC-WPP), delivered throughout British Columbia by Bowman Employment Services, is designed to assist approximately 650 unemployed youth in BC, who are between 15 and 29 years old and who are not Employment Insurance clients, to attain employment and to build workplace skills.
This unique program will also assist the employers who hire these youth.
Hiring inexperienced youth can be costly to employers. YSBC-WPP helps to address this issue by offering employers up to $2,000 towards on-the-job training. Additionally, up to $1,000 is available to purchase training for the newly hired youth, plus employers can receive assistance to develop a training plan.
More details can be viewed at www.bowmanemployment.com/ysbc or call toll-free 1 877 866-3100 or 1-888-466-1375. Bowman Employment Services staff are available to assist unemployed youth and employers who are interested in hiring eligible youth.
